01 / Planning the purchase
Keep bedding fabric separate from filling
Sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers concern the textile surrounding or touching the user. Pillow and quilt filling is a different material requirement. Identify the fabric article in the first sentence of the inquiry so the conversation starts with the correct part of the bedding product.
02 / Planning the purchase
Describe the fabric-making route
Explain whether the fabric is woven or knitted and whether you are purchasing yarn or fiber for further spinning. A fabric producer and an importer of finished bed linen work at different stages. Naming the buying stage helps keep the discussion relevant even when several companies share the same collection project.
03 / Planning the purchase
Use end-use language that the mill can follow
Describe the intended surface, drape and overall feel in ordinary terms, and identify whether polyester is used alone or in a blend. Avoid treating the fiber name as a complete description of the fabric. Yarn, construction and finishing contribute to the final bedding experience.
04 / Planning the purchase
Manage coordinated articles carefully
A bedding set may contain several fabrics or constructions. Give the sheet, cover and pillowcase their own article references if their requirements differ. Keeping these distinctions visible helps the purchasing team track changes without assuming that every item in the set uses the same material route.
05 / Planning the purchase
Prepare the commercial context
Include the planned quantity and destination for the material you actually want to buy, rather than only a finished-set count. If you know only the number of finished articles, state that clearly so it is not mistaken for a fiber or yarn quantity. Have questions? Please email us directly.
Example inquiry outline
We are sourcing material for duvet-cover and pillowcase fabrics. The inquiry concerns their outer textile, not the filling of the bedding. Our fabric producer can identify the yarn route and construction. We will list the two articles separately if they use different materials, and keep finished-set quantities separate from the raw-material purchase.
