01 / Planning the purchase
Begin with continuous yarn
Polyester filament yarn consists of continuous filaments, unlike spun yarn made from staple fibers. Start by checking that this is the material form your process uses. The word polyester describes the polymer family; it does not by itself distinguish fiber for spinning from yarn ready to enter another textile process.
02 / Planning the purchase
Explain the fabric route
State whether the yarn is intended for weaving, knitting or further yarn processing. Include the article being made, such as curtain fabric, lining or sportswear fabric. The production route and end use help keep the discussion relevant when several different textiles are being sourced by the same buying team.
03 / Planning the purchase
Describe appearance in practical terms
Explain the visual direction and intended feel of the fabric. If you use a picture as inspiration, say which part matters rather than expecting the image to communicate everything. Describe known requirements in your own words and keep unanswered questions visible for later discussion.
04 / Planning the purchase
Coordinate development and repeat orders
A new article needs a clear concept and a named decision-maker. A repeat purchase needs an earlier reference and a statement of changes. Keep separate article references for different fabrics even when they belong to the same collection, so an update to one does not silently affect another.
05 / Planning the purchase
Send an organized purchasing message
Identify filament yarn, the receiving process, intended fabric, estimated buying quantity and destination. Do not treat a fabric-roll quantity as a yarn quantity. Have questions? Please email us directly. The inquiry builder can help assemble these details into an email you review before sending.
Your practical checklist
- Confirm that you are buying filament yarn.
- Name the weaving, knitting or further-processing route.
- Give each fabric article its own reference.
- Keep yarn quantities separate from fabric-roll quantities.
Keep this checklist beside your current project brief and revisit it when the buying context changes.
