How to Compare Polyester Supplier Quotes

Arrange quotations on a consistent commercial basis without reducing the decision to one headline price.

01 / Planning the purchase

Compare the same buying stage

First check that the quotations concern the same material form. Fiber, tops and finished yarn are different purchasing inputs. Keep the intended application and your project reference visible beside each offer, so a similar product name does not hide a different position in the supply chain.

02 / Planning the purchase

Normalize quantity and currency

Record each price unit, currency and quoted quantity before comparing totals. A price per kilogram cannot be compared directly with a price per tonne. If currency conversion is needed, record the exchange rate and date used in your own worksheet; do not mix amounts in different currencies into one total.

03 / Planning the purchase

Read the inclusions

List the delivery basis and separately identify costs that are included, excluded or unknown. Transport and other charges can make two headline prices difficult to compare. An unanswered item should remain marked as a question rather than silently being treated as zero.

04 / Planning the purchase

Track context as well as numbers

Add the date of each quotation, your internal reference and outstanding questions. Record commercial wording as provided rather than replacing it with an assumption. The comparison worksheet lets you organize these points locally in your browser, without uploading the quotation documents.

05 / Planning the purchase

Use the comparison to ask better questions

The worksheet should help you identify differences that need clarification. It does not automatically select a supplier or turn an incomplete offer into a confirmed order. Have questions? Please email us directly with the part of your purchasing conversation you want to discuss.

Your practical checklist

  • Match material forms and purchase quantities.
  • Convert price units to a common basis.
  • Record included, excluded and unknown costs.
  • List follow-up questions before choosing an offer.

Keep this checklist beside your current project brief and revisit it when the buying context changes.
