How to Choose a Polyester Material Route by End Use

Work backwards from the finished article to the material form your business actually needs.

01 / Planning the purchase

Name the finished article

Start with a concrete article: a woven curtain, a filled pillow, a knitted top or a nonwoven layer. A broad industry name is useful context, but the article helps explain the role of the material. Add a short description of the feature that matters most to the project.

02 / Planning the purchase

Identify the layer

Many articles contain several textiles. Separate outer fabric, backing, padding and filling before choosing a material route. If more than one layer is being sourced, give each a separate line in the brief. This keeps the inquiry readable and avoids asking one material family to stand for an entire assembled product.

03 / Planning the purchase

Locate your buying stage

Decide whether your operation buys raw fiber, prepared tops, yarn, fabric or a finished component. Two companies serving the same end market can purchase completely different inputs. Describing the material you receive and what you do with it is usually the clearest way to establish the correct starting point.

04 / Planning the purchase

Connect the teams involved

A designer may define the look, a converter may define the process and a purchaser may define the buying quantity. Collect these inputs in one brief with a named contact for follow-up. Keep original references alongside the summary so an internal handover does not remove important context.

05 / Planning the purchase

Turn the route into an inquiry

Write the article, layer, material form, process, estimated quantity and destination. Use the application library to find a more focused guide, then use the RFQ builder if you want an email outline. Have questions? Please email us directly.

Your practical checklist

  • Name the finished article.
  • Identify the textile layer being sourced.
  • Locate the point where your company buys material.
  • Record who supplies the process description.

Keep this checklist beside your current project brief and revisit it when the buying context changes.
